Part Time Courses for Islamic Studies

Islam is not only the second largest religion in the world, with over 25% of the global population being Muslims, but it is also the fastest growing major religion too. A Masters in Islamic Studies (MA), will approach the way Islam has affected humanity, culture, literature, art, history and philosophy through an academic and theoretical lens. Students will learn about topics such as the formation of the Arab-Islamic culture, the strength of the Ottoman Empire, the dissemination of the message of the Qur’an, and the two denominations of the religion, Sunni and Shia. An Islamic Studies student will gain a breadth of knowledge, as this multidisciplinary degree touches on a variety of subjects, approaches, and fields. A postgraduate student usually becomes involved in careers such as journalism, television editors, writers, researchers, interpreters, or can become an Imam, Muezzin, or Ayatollah.
