Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. Dietetics is the science of how food and nutrition affects human health. In a Nutrition or Dietetics (M. Sc) Master’s Degree, students learn the principles of nutrition, public health nutrition, clinical nutrition and nutrition research skills. The aim is for students to be able to create and apply new knowledge about diet and human nutrition to improve public health and advance our understanding of contemporary nutrition issues. A Master’s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics leads to careers in nutrition planning, health promotion, nutrition information, teaching or research.
