Course Overview
In the Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering program, each student plans an individualized course of study with the assistance of a special committee made up of faculty members who represent major and minor concentrations of study. The degree requires a thesis and a final oral examination. A minimum of two registration units from Cornell is required for the MS. MS degree students can not receive registration credits for previous study at other graduate schools. Candidates for the M.S. degree are expected to demonstrate mastery of knowledge in a specific subject area in Civil and Environmental engineering and to synthesize and create new knowledge, making original and substantial contributions to their discipline in a timely fashion.
