Course Overview
Northwestern Master of Engineering Management graduates can fill this gap. In the complex, competitive world of technology driven industry, skilled engineers who understand the essential principles of business have a tremendous competitive advantage. MEM Programs are meeting the demand for such professionals and are distinctive among engineering programs in their integration of business and engineering. Northwestern Advantage, Northwestern MEM is the only MEM degree program offered by a first tier University in the Midwest. It is also one of the oldest and most established MEM programs in the country. As a mostly part time program, we can easily accommodate the working student working in local industry. MEM Program Consortium Northwestern MEM is part of the Master of Engineering Management Programs Consortium (MEMPC) , a small group of highly selective and forward-thinking professional graduate engineering management programs. Innovation, Innovation is taught from a variety of different perspectives. From a product development perspective, we deliver a course that is specific to product development and the processes needed to bring a product to market. Strategic Thinking, This is developed in several of our courses. In the intro to Engineering Management course, the ability to synthesize a series of financial performances and to understand the long term implications of business decisions is simulated in a competitive environment. Leadership, The MEM program develops technology leaders first and foremost by taking experienced and highly competent engineers who self-select, by joining the MEM program, to learn more about leadership and management concepts and skill building. The MEM program then progressively exposes them to the MEM leadership model which was developed to build the competencies of tomorrow's technical leaders.
