Founded in 1955, the Sloan Program in Health Administration has been at the forefront of health administration education and research for over 55 years and was the nation's first program to adopt a two year academic curriculum. Its name recognizes the generosity of the Alfred P. Sloan, Jr. Foundation, which selected Cornell to develop the new program and provided its original funding.
Students complete requirements in health services administration and selected electives in functional areas such as finance, marketing, information systems, and human resource management. Course work includes classes in management, healthcare delivery and finance, population health, quantitative analysis and methods, law and ethics, accounting, economics, health policy, and strategic management.
