Course Overview
The Kinesiology - Physical Education and Coaching Pedagogy program is offered by the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Faculty members in the Department of Applied Health facilitate the consumption of research in physical education teacher education and its application to practice, through the use of Blackboard and discussion board participation, as well as contextually relevant reflective activities. Why Physical Education and Coaching Pedagogy? The master of science in education program is a 100 percent online program that consists of 30 semester hours beyond a bachelor's degree. Graduate students have the option to complete the program in a flexible format that works with their schedule. The physical education and coaching pedagogy program offers a unique experience characterized by the integration of theory and practice, a commitment to recruiting a diverse and academically talented candidate pool, and direct guidance by faculty members with expertise in respective areas within physical education and coaching. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to develop their ability to be a reflective practitioner as well as their appreciation for the connection between research and quality teaching and coaching.
