Course Overview
Studying our MA in New Media and Society will provide you with a comprehensive grounding in the theories and approaches to new media and technologies in both micro and macro contexts, and you will gain in-depth knowledge of the key concepts associated with the new media, including the network society, digital capitalism, online behaviour and persuasive digital environments. In addition, you will learn the most innovative research methods to carry out research online. The course enables you to explore new media technologies and their impact and influences on society, culture, politics and human psychology whilst developing a critical understanding of the historical background and recent developments and trends in new media, enabling you to engage confidently with all aspects of new media and new technologies. The course combines core modules and option modules from a selection of specialist subjects. You will also complete a dissertation based on individually supervised research.
