Course Overview
The Division of Pharmacology's mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge relating to the science of drug effects on biological systems. In research activities, students and faculty explore the mechanisms by which drugs work, study disease models to find new drug targets, and contribute to optimization of therapeutic drug regimens. Specialty focus areas include cardiovascular, cancer and neuro-pharmacology. A MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis in Pharmacology immerses a student in discovering the mechanisms of drug action, using drugs as tools to explore the workings of the body and studying disease models to find new drug targets. The program of study includes graduate level courses in pharmacology, physiology, biochemistry and statistics.
