Course Overview

The curriculum of the 2-year international M.Sc. program is fully taught in English and offers lectures as well as a wide selection of electable laboratory courses in the areas of: Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Transgenic Plants, Plant Biodiversity, Systematics and Evolution, Plant Cell Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Paleobotany, Ecology and Conservation. Students finishing their M.Sc. Plant Sciences program have excellent opportunities to start a Ph.D. project in Bonn or at a research institution close by. A structured Ph.D. program in plant sciences with participation of PIs of the M.Sc. Plant Sciences program was established in the framework of the DFG-funded Graduate School on Plant Drought Stress (Graduiertenkolleg GRK2064) in Bonn. Furthermore, the M.Sc. Plant Sciences program co-operates with the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne and with the Universities of Cologne and Dusseldorf, which offer additional opportunities for Ph.D. projects.
