As well as meeting the academic requirements of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia, Charles Sturt University's Master of Professional Accounting provides practical and relevant skills, opening the way to many vocational choices in areas of financial management, public practice, commerce and industry, government and semi-government organisations and accounting education.
Our program is available for study by distance education, or international students may choose on campus study at Charles Sturt University Study Centres in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. Distance education students will have subjects taught using a range of blended learning techniques, which may include online education study materials, video-captured lectures, online meetings, subject forums and additional study resources. You can also fast-track your degree by completing up to four subjects per session.
The Master of Professional Accounting will prepare you to: undertake and evaluate the conceptual basis of accounting and financial decision-making; understand, evaluate and apply the principles of current accounting practice; recognise and analyse the impact of the business environment on accounting theory and its application, including the regulatory requirements controlling the accounting process.
The Masters level programs have been developed to satisfy, where relevant, the academic requirements of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia. The Graduate Diploma of Accounting and the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting are not separately accredited by the professional accounting bodies.
