Course Overview
While at the American University Washington DC, students have the opportunity to network with and join professional real estate associations, including the National Association of Industrial and Office Professionals (NAIOP) , Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) , International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) , and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). The Master of Science in Real Estate degree program frequently arranges networking events, organizes company and project site visits, and hosts expert speakers on campus. Many prominent Washington, D. C. and regional real estate developers and professionals are Kogod alumni, and sit on the Real Estate Advisory Council, an active board dedicated to the development of the program. Additionally, the school's benefactor, Robert Kogod, is the former Co-Chairman/Co-CEO of the Charles E. Smith Real Estate Company. Career Outcomes, The Kogod Center for Career Development provides students with opportunities to network, attend career fairs and on-campus recruiting to facilitate a positive career outcome.
