Course Overview

Along with developing essential skills and understanding of the planning, management and operation of transport systems, we aim to help you establish a responsible attitude towards the needs of society, the environment and transport safety considerations. We will teach you core skills in: information processing, data analysis, problem solving, teamwork, communication and presentation, Delivery You will take 10 taught modules, which will mostly be transport related but you can choose modules from other subject areas. You will undertake a research project written up as a dissertation. You can also go on a study tour to Europe to examine the different approaches to transport management in other countries. You will see the operation of various public transport systems and study the principles behind advanced transport planning software. Facilities: The School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences has an exceptional range of laboratories equipped with a wide range of analytical instrumentation supporting our research, teaching and contract research projects.
