Marketing

Marketing is concerned with managing the relationship between a business and the wider marketplace. Marketers are concerned with the exchange relationships between their business and those who purchase its products or services – they aim to recruit, satisfy, and retain those consumers. A wealth of models and processes have been developed by the marketing industry over the years to deliver these three outcomes; and a Masters in Marketing (usually a MSc) is dedicated to exploring that wealth. This will often involve detailed analysis of case studies, as well as training in various methods for identifying and engaging with markets in different circumstances. A postgraduate degree in Marketing will not only prepare you for Marketing positions alone. Related professions – such as PR and Communications – require many of the same skills, and many Marketing courses also provide introductions to these fields, as well as providing guidance on other options, like starting your own business or going into management.
