Emergency & Disaster Management

Emergency and Disaster Management is a collective term encompassing all aspects of planning for, and responding to, emergencies and disasters, including both pre- and post-event activities. It refers to the management of both the risk and the consequences of an event. A Master’s in Emergency and Disaster Management will allow students to become experts in several areas such as environmental risks and management, natural hazards, business continuity planning, public health, humanitarian law, crisis management, war and complex emergencies. A postgraduate degree in Emergency and Disaster Management offers pathways into many different careers within the field.
