Environmental Economics & Policy

Environmental Economics and Policy is an area of economics that studies the economic impact of environmental policies. In an Environmental and Economic Policy Master’s degree, students receive training in environmental economics, law, politics and analytical methods and tools. The aim is to provide students with an understanding of the importance of institutions and policy processes with a deeper analysis of national and international policy issues such as biodiversity protection, climate change and poverty/environment linkages. An awareness of the institutional and policy context in which environmental economic solutions might be applied is also a key element. Greater knowledge of a wide range of economic tools and evaluation methods will also be built. Graduates from Environmental Economics and Policy degrees are qualified to be employed in international agencies, consulting firms, and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
